- ➤ U of A expanded its approved AI tools for faculty, staff and grad assistants by adding Microsoft Copilot Chat (free for users) and ChatGPT Edu (license required); Google Gemini and NotebookLM become free on Feb. 2, and a tool exception process plus a community of practice are available. - ➤ John Brown University in Siloam Springs received a $750,000 gift from the Walker Charitable Foundation to support its $8 million Health Education Building expansion. Construction began in May 2025 and upgrades to the nursing simulation lab plus a new 16,000 sqft wing will be completed in April. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ City Council will consider buying 27,800 all-in-one recycling carts today to replace 18-gallon bins with a single-stream system. The carts will be ordered by early May and deployed by June with funding from a Recycling Partnership grant and local funds, according to the environmental director. Fayetteville Flyer

- ➤ ARDOT crews prepare for the first statewide winter storm of 2026, with 80% of Arkansas expected to see rain, snow, and cold temperatures between Friday and Sunday. Teams meet today to check salt supplies, plows, and chemicals as temperatures drop into the teens and single digits. 4029 News
