  • St. James Baptist Church, founded in 1865, has served Fayetteville for over 160 years as a welcoming space that honors its past and promotes unity among all. Senior Pastor Jonathan Lowder noted during Black History Month that the church remains a safe place for people from every background.  5 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • ACNMWA announced three Arkansas artists—K. Nelson Harper, Acadia Kandora, and Rebecca Resinski—to be featured in the Arkansas Women to Watch 2026 exhibition, which opened Feb. 13 and will tour five galleries across the state until Dec. 12. The show honors innovative book arts that turn words into tangible art.  Arkansas Times

  • At the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, seven animal science graduate students competed in the Dr. Paul Noland Award Competition (presenting research on beef production and sustainability) with master's winner Jacy Riddle using dewormers for parasite management and doctoral winner Cameron Catrett testing brewer waste in dry aged beef.  University of Arkansas
  • Fayetteville Youth Advisory Board created a list of volunteer opportunities to help high school students meet the 75-hour graduation requirement under the Arkansas LEARNS Act, offering options in animal care, health care, food banks & community support available on the city website.  4029 News
  • Nominations for outstanding service learning classes, students and community partners are open until March 1, with an award ceremony scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Monday, April 6 at the Walker Community Room in the Fayetteville Public Library.
