  • The Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry is joining SEC Food Fight and invites Razorbacks to donate essential food items at campus drop-off sites until March 31. Campus groups can also start drives to help restock shelves for hundreds of clients each month.  University of Arkansas

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rosa Aldana, a U of A Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDI) student, was chosen as the Arkansas Student State Officer for the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association. In this role, she will link local chapters with scholarships and resources to boost leadership in audiology and social work.  University of Arkansas
  • Faculty from Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences held a workshop last week to try active learning techniques that boost student engagement (part of the new Fulbright Learning Community pilot) led by facilitator Lynn Meade.  University of Arkansas
  • The College of Education and Health Professions celebrated 12 alumni heroes today at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House (home to several annual events) as Dean Kate Mamiseishvili highlighted their work in education and health, showing how ordinary people do extraordinary things.  University of Arkansas
  • UAPD will host a Spring Break Car Check event on Friday, March 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at U of A Parking Lot 232 near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, offering free vehicle safety checks and travel tips for campus students, faculty, and staff.  University of Arkansas
  • A ceremony on April 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Walker Community Room of Fayetteville Public Library will honor the Service Learning Initiative’s 2025 to 2026 winners in student, class and community partner categories plus John and Trudy Sher Service Learning Scholarship recipients (RSVP by March 23).  University of Arkansas
  • Brock Conklin, a second-year U of A School of Law student, has been named editor-in-chief of the Journal of Food Law & Policy for the 2026–27 school year — his appointment follows praise from current editor Mary Eichenberger and supports the Journal’s legacy in food law.  University of Arkansas
  • U of A Agricultural Systems & Technology and FFA Alumni clubs will host their annual Lawnmower Tune-Up fundraiser this spring.
