COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On May 2, Parks and Rec hosts the Spring Square to Square ride, a 30-mile bike trip along the Razorback Greenway from Bentonville to Fayetteville. The ride starts at the Sam’s Club Home Office and ends in Upper Ramble (register by April 29 to join or opt for DIY version).  Fayetteville Flyer
  • Fayetteville residents can look forward to a busy weekend from Friday through Sunday featuring Arkansas Softball at Bogle Park, the Tulip Festival at Rivercrest Orchard, markets at Moonhouse and Pink House Alchemy, and live music at George's Majestic Lounge + seasonal events like the Goddess Party and Spring Fling.  5 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Fayetteville approved a five-year lease with OSM Aviation Academy to run a new commercial pilot training program at Drake Field in coming weeks. City Council said the program could train hundreds and create local jobs — open to Arkansas students in 2027.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Jones Center in Springdale released its 2025 Community Impact Report as it marked 30 years, recording over 587,000 visits and $10.4M in economic benefits. Membership grew by 18% while programs and classes expanded their reach (report).  NWA Business Journal

  • Ink & Inspiration: A Student Writing Retreat for U of A students will be held at the Fine Arts Center on Wednesday, Apr. 1 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Thursday, Apr. 2 (1 to 5:30 p.m.) and features writing sessions, peer feedback, and free meals.  University of Arkansas
  • The Sam M. Walton College of Business at UA received a $200,000 donation from the Hill Family Fund that will establish the Jay F. Hill Portfolio Manager Endowment to support undergraduate scholarships and stipend opportunities in the college’s investment program (honoring Jay Hill's legacy).  NWA Business Journal

  • Arkansas football will keep tight end coach Morgan Turner and key player Jaden Platt for the 2026 season, while adding new players like Matt Adcock and Ty Lockwood.
