  • Arkansas Repertory Theatre will hold its Ovation! fundraiser on May 3rd across its four floors, featuring specialty cocktails and a seated dinner by Heritage Catering. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • University of Arkansas doctoral candidate Thomas McKean developed a nanofiltration membrane that removes 99% of the algae toxin microcystins from water, and discussions with the city are underway to test the filter at Lake Fayetteville. He will work to scale the technology after he graduates in December—further research is in progress to refine its use in cleaning water during harmful algal blooms.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • University of Arkansas baseball clinched its first road series win at Hawkins Field in Nashville — beating No. 13 Vanderbilt 6-4 in 10 innings on Saturday, ending a drought since 2010.   • The University of Arkansas baseball team won 10-2 in a run-rule victory over Kentucky at Bogle Park and clinched the series win with early scoring in the first two innings — they will seek a series sweep in the finale at noon today.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
