CULTURE NEWS

  • Multi-platinum country star Justin Moore will headline the Razorback Foundation Spring Kickoff powered by TheLinkU on Saturday, April 25 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. HogTown festivities (including a car and truck show, petting zoo, interactive games, and food trucks) will start at 10 a.m. in Lot 300.  University of Arkansas

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UALR’s Sequoyah National Research Center is gathering records on Native and Alaskan soldiers from WWI—its Modern Warriors of World War I project began with the 2017 'Untold Stories: American Indian Code Talkers of World War I' exhibit in the Fine Arts building.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The U of A Division of Student Affairs will host the 2026 Innovation Summit on Thursday, April 2 in the Arkansas Union Ballroom. The morning event begins with an 8 a.m. breakfast plus 8:30 a.m. opening remarks, 10 a.m. educational sessions and an optional roundtable lunch for registered participants.  University of Arkansas
  • Faculty and board leaders of the College of Education and Health Professions met last week to review progress on student success and research initiatives (including new leadership changes with John L.   • Dr. Prateek Verma will showcase how the Data Science Core supports faculty research at the Arkansas Integrative Metabolic Research Center on Wednesday, Apr. 1 at 12:55 p.m. in CHEM 0144, and those who cannot attend in person can join via Zoom (pizza and beverages will be served).  University of Arkansas
  • U of A psychology professor James Michael Lampinen released the second edition of his book on eyewitness identification — it explains how factors like lighting, stress, and lineup procedures affect memory accuracy and offers research-based suggestions for improving investigative practices.  University of Arkansas
  • The School of Art is giving U of A community members up to two free tickets to America 250: Common Threads at Crystal Bridges with code HOGS until June 1 (exhibition ends July 27). They also offer transportation support for campus rides on a first-come, first-served basis.  University of Arkansas
  • Hilary N. Green, the James B. Duke Professor at Davidson College, will deliver her lecture The Porch Archives of Black Civil War Memory for the Donovan Lecture series at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in the Honors Auditorium (Gearhart Hall 026). GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fayetteville City Council will consider an ordinance to change farmers market rules that would expand the market east along Mountain Street, extend its season from March to Christmas, add Tuesday hours from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and allow alcoholic beverages, with the council discussing the measure tomorrow.  5 News

  • Razorback Baseball will host its ninth annual Junior RBI Girl Day at Baum-Walker Stadium on Sunday, May 3, where young fans in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade will join a field performance and clinic before the 2 p.m. game; registration closes Friday, May 1 at noon.  University of Arkansas
