Good morning, Fayetteville.
Fayetteville Public Library restocked its seed library with 1,500 seed packets donated by the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank—offering seeds for beans, onions, okra, melon, peppers and flowers—and community engagement manager Carlye Dennis said locals grabbed the seeds quickly.
She hopes to expand the program to include seed sharing for community gardening.
Florence Price's legacy is honored after her death through performances and recordings of her music — many of which were unpublished in her lifetime.
After days of heavy rain, floodwaters have continued to rise and emergency crews in Northwest Arkansas have closed several rural roads while monitoring 950 miles in Washington County for hazardous conditions—officials advise drivers to avoid any road with barricades as even shallow water can hide dangerous depths. The Arkansas Department of Transportation has shut down over 50 highways and Benton County crews are also working overnight, with efforts expected to continue through the weekend.
Little Rock Christian junior JJ Andrews—an ESPN 4-star recruit—named his top five schools, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, LSU, Marquette and Missouri, and set May 15 as the date he will announce his college decision.
He made official visits to all five finalists and led his team to a 24-8 record.
At Baum-Walker Stadium today, Arkansas leads Missouri 3 to 2 in the bottom of the third inning after Logan Maxwell hit a 376-foot drive that boosted the score.
The Razorbacks began their game with a 4 p.m. first pitch in cold, windy and overcast conditions and will try to extend the lead as play continues.
