- ➤ Prairie Grove police arrested local attorney and businessman Justin L. Crawley after an eight-month investigation into fraud, forgery, and financial deception totaling more than $1 million—state charges include forgery and theft of property, and further charges may follow as the investigation continues. - ➤ Fort Smith police are searching for an armed man from Oklahoma—accused of being involved in a Wednesday night shooting at Foxfire Club where two people died—and advise locals to avoid him. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Organizers released the lineup for the Old Friends Reunion music festival—set for Sept. 25‑28 at Old Friends Farms near Prairie Grove—with artists including Carsie Blanton, Fritz & Sons, and others scheduled to perform. Local musicians who started the festival last year said a fundraiser will be held on June 27 at Fenix Arts inside Miller Hall to help cover production costs. Fayetteville Flyer

- ➤ The Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience is accepting applications for its 2025-26 team and will close on April 15 at (11:55 p.m.). - ➤ The University of Arkansas Speech and Debate Society finished in the top five nationally at the IPDA tournament in Baytown—Texas last weekend. The team won 18 individual honors and several competitors advanced to later rounds while Coach Hannah Morris received a nomination for a top coaching award. University of Arkansas
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation in collaboration with the University of Mississippi and University of Alabama will offer free Youth Mental Health First Aid training sessions via Zoom in May, June and July—community members, students and faculty will gain skills to address mental health and substance use challenges. - ➤ An unvaccinated traveler caught measles while out-of-state and visited several health sites including the Arkansas Children's Hospital emergency department on April 8 in Saline County. Health officials urge anyone who visited these locations on April 6 or April 8 to update their measles vaccine and monitor for symptoms over 21 days. Arkansas Times
