  • The University of Arkansas Fine Arts Center reopens on April 16 following a $38 million restoration—visitors will explore the interactive VR demo ELARA 0.1, developed by the School of Art and Walton College of Business in the lobby. EDUCATION NEWS

  • U of A student Jenna Klewsaat shared how strong connections helped her overcome mental health challenges in her Short Takes video. She will graduate in May with a double major in communications and psychology (and double minors in English and Italian).  University of Arkansas
  • The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology is hosting Travis Faske for the Spring 2026 Seminar Series today at 3:30 p.m. in AGRI 115 (or via Zoom) with snacks provided before the seminar.  University of Arkansas
  • Assistant Professor James Sinclair received the Martin J. Kaufman Distinguished Early Career Research Award for his special education research during the Council for Exceptional Children Convention in Salt Lake City. His work helps students with disabilities get support during their transition to adulthood.  University of Arkansas
  • A U of A student team placed first and won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 2025 IEEE Aerospace Power Electronics Design Challenge. The team developed a fault-tolerant DC-DC converter for harsh aerospace conditions (in a contest with 22 international teams) and the award was presented at APEC 2026 in San Antonio.  University of Arkansas
  • The Planning Commission approved the 150000 sqft Ramay Junior High School project on Monday after the district updated its plans with traffic calming measures + a substitute fee of over $49000 for sidewalk repairs, part of a ten year strategy to reduce student travel time.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas Folk and Traditional Arts with UA Extension will launch the Granny Camp series at Mullins Library Event Space (MULN 217) on April 15 from noon to 2 p.m. The drop-in event lets community and campus members learn skills, create sewing crafts and share ideas for future sessions.  University of Arkansas
