- ➤ Severe storms over Easter weekend damaged several homes along North Chapel Drive in the Hughmont Village area in Fayetteville—roofs were damaged, fences knocked down, and trees felled—and a powerline tipped over near Highway 412 by the Springdale airport, leading workers to block a lane for safety. 4029 News

- ➤ On Feb. 7, John Rausch, chairman and CEO of Rausch Companies, rang the bell on the NYSE floor to mark the sale of his Fayetteville-based Rausch Coleman Homes for more than $1 billion to Lennar Corp—making it the nation’s 21st largest homebuilder. - ➤ Researchers from the University of Arkansas studied how microplastics stick in streams using four types of riverbed materials. - ➤ The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is working to restore the threatened Arkansas Fatmucket along the Saline River through captive propagation and habitat improvements. - ➤ Northwest Arkansas Council CEO Nelson Peacock said the legislative session passed key measures that will let local leaders set up industrial development authorities—tools that aim to create new business sites and middle-wage jobs.
