- ➤ After markets closed on April 23, Tontitown’s PAMT Corp reported a Q1 net loss of $8.14 million as revenue fell 14.9% to $155.34 million compared to last year—its logistics and truckload operations showed further strain, and shares traded down by 1.15% on April 24. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ Attorney and scholar Scott W. Stern discussed his new book, There Is a Deep Brooding in Arkansas, which links historic rape trials in Mississippi County with Maya Angelou’s path to healing from childhood trauma—shedding light on how poverty and social isolation fueled these events. - ➤ Two Panamanian seniors from U of A's Biological and Agricultural Engineering department are set to graduate in May after receiving a competitive scholarship and strong mentorship that helped them tackle environmental challenges. After graduation, Maria Vergara Murillo will start a wastewater treatment job with Mead and Hunt and Janai Dominguez Gonzalez will return to Panama to inspire young students in STEM — a path shaped by their rural upbringing. - ➤ Two fourth year U of A interior architecture students each received $30,000 from the Angelo Donghia Foundation for their design projects submitted last spring. Cassie Roberts designed a tool library concept and Olivia Everett focused on outdoor recreation for the Fayetteville Public Library’s services—both awards will help them with their future studies and careers. - ➤ State officials will change the traffic patterns on MLK Boulevard as part of the MLK Boulevard interchange project; westbound traffic will no longer turn left onto Futrall and eastbound traffic will no longer turn right, with the change coming into effect at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, and South Futrall permanently allowing only northbound traffic. - ➤ On Saturday, the Health Department will open five offices — including one in Fayetteville at 3270 Wimberly Drive — from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to issue birth certificates needed for Real IDs to help meet the May 7 deadline, while five revenue offices will operate in the same cities solely to issue Real IDs. - ➤ Fayetteville pitcher and outfielder Jaison DeLamar signed with the Razorbacks in December after committing in 2022.
