- ➤ Sweetgreen, a restaurant chain serving customizable protein plates, salads, and bowls, plans to open a new location in Fayetteville's South Yard development at 417 W. - ➤ Fayetteville’s Weekend Starts series returns on Friday, May 2 in The Ramble with free visual art, live music and interactive classes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The spring season runs through June 27 and updates for inclement weather will be posted on the City’s website—attendees are welcome to bring picnic blankets and enjoy events in both the Upper and Lower Ramble. - ➤ Fayetteville songwriter Ashtyn Barbaree will perform at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2 to begin a free music series at the new Stonebreaker Hotel, according to a press release. The series will include additional concerts on June 14, July 4, Aug. 16, Oct. 11, and Nov. 22 — the shows will range from quiet indoor acoustic sets to louder outdoor performances. Fayetteville Flyer

- ➤ A constitutional amendment that would let cities and counties offer tax breaks for economic development districts will be on the ballot in 2026 after the Legislature passed it on April 16 with broad support. A bill filed by Sen. Jonathan Dismang sets out basic rules for districts to issue bonds, make grants and freeze current tax levels—helping local leaders boost private investment. Arkansas Times

- ➤ Chemistry professor Martin Edwards received a $538,673 CAREER award from the National Science Foundation to develop nano-electrochemical imaging tools that may improve battery tests and chemical analysis. - ➤ State Rep. Denise Garner announced she will run for the Arkansas Senate District 30 seat in 2026 to replace term-limited Sen.
