  • Today the 13th annual Mini Derby will run from 4 to 8 p.m. at 5920 S Bellview Road in Rogers despite several days of severe weather this week. Proceeds will support Equestrian Bridges— a nonprofit that provides equine therapy for children, individuals and families — and tickets remain available at the gate.  4029 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Fayetteville police arrested 20-year-old Kaden Courtney on May 2 after he robbed an EZ-Mart twice in one day on N. Leverett Avenue and W Poplar Street—clothes used in both robberies were found at his nearby home and he now faces two counts of aggravated robbery.  4029 News
  • A Cave Springs man was arrested — police said he installed a miniature camera in a women's restroom to film seven women using the toilet.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • John Brown University Professor Randall Waldron said tariffs and supply chain issues delayed rebuilding after the May 2024 storm that killed 3 in Northwest Arkansas—raising costs and slowing construction. He warned that families and businesses will face higher material prices as recovery efforts continue.  4029 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Arkansas confirmed that all five international students whose visa status was revoked last month have had their SEVIS records reinstated—officials said the restoration took several days last week—and no student names were released.  Arkansas Times

  • Katherine Scudder said her Rogers 4x800 relay team did not run their best on Friday, May 2 at Whitey Smith Stadium—she expects the team to work on resetting their relay mark in future meets.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • LSU freshman left-hander Jayden Heavener kept Arkansas' hitters quiet on Friday at Bogle Park as his team won 13-2, forcing a series rubber match — and game 3 is scheduled for today at 1 p.m. to decide the series matchup.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
