- ➤ John C. Davis, executive director of the Pryor Center and a political science professor, was named to the Arkansas Business 40 Under 40 list for 2025. He will be honored at the recognition ceremony on June 10 and is recognized for his work in preserving Arkansas stories for future research and community pride. University of Arkansas

- ➤ U of A students graduating this spring are invited to complete the First Destination Survey to share their post-graduation plans+ the short survey is available through instructions in email and is voluntary but encouraged by faculty to help track career paths. University of Arkansas
- ➤ The Department of English is offering an undergraduate course titled "Meaningful Mundanity in American Prison and Reentry Films" for May intersession from May 12th to 22nd in Kimpel Hall 116 from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The course will use readings and films to analyze how well movies show the challenges of prison life and reentry—enrollment is available through UAConnect. - ➤ David J. Fitts, an alumnus of the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, will deliver the Spring Commencement address on May 10 at 3 p.m. in Barnhill Arena on the U of A campus + he returns after a long career at NASA to honor his ties with the school. University of Arkansas
- ➤ The University of Arkansas is asking undergraduates to join the Lunch Buddy Mentor program where mentors support local elementary students during lunchtime twice weekly and earn 3.0 course credit this fall. Applications close shortly after finals week — applicants must complete an interview, pass a criminal background check, and have reliable transportation for the two-hour commitment. - ➤ The U of A Association for Computing Machinery hosted this year’s HogHacks hackathon where over 140 students competed in teams to develop software and hardware in 24 hours. Organizers thanked the department and sponsors—J.B. Hunt, SupplyPike, ArcBest and Phillips 66—and recognized winners with first place going to Team SOS, second to Team uhhhh and third to Team Github Goobers. University of Arkansas
- ➤ The University of Arkansas recently hosted the 2024 to 2025 Leadership Arkansas Class XIX, a program run by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce with 53 leaders from across the state. - ➤ The U of A Speech and Hearing Clinic is enrolling new referrals for pediatric and adult services—summer therapy and audiology sessions will run from May 27 to July 30 at the Epley Center on campus north of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Licensed practitioners and student interns will manage the program to support speech, hearing, language, and vocal wellness. University of Arkansas
