- ➤ Horse riders and farmers met at Devils Den State Park on May 4 to urge cyclists to yield to horses and pedestrians as trail traffic increased. They stressed that proper trail etiquette is essential for everyone’s safety. 4029 News

- ➤ The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal is accepting nominations for its awards programs, with deadlines on May 22 for Forty Under 40, on May 8 for Women in Business, and on Aug. 14 for C-Suite Awards. - ➤ GasBuddy reported that gas prices in Arkansas jumped more than 33 cents per gallon in the week before May 4, with prices rising over 31 cents from last month and $1.15 from last year, as refinery outages & supply constraints drove the increase. 5 News

- ➤ The University of Arkansas will hold commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 at Bud Walton Arena and Barnhill Arena as it honors more than 6,500 graduates - Congressman Steve Womack will speak on Friday while multiple colleges celebrate their graduates. - ➤ Arkansas Circuit Court Judge John Threet will deliver the U of A School of Law commencement address at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, in Barnhill Arena. The ceremony will be live streamed for those unable to attend. University of Arkansas
- ➤ University of Arkansas College of Engineering moved into the top 100 of the U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Engineering Schools rankings, climbing from 106th to 99th overall and 65th among public programs. - ➤ U of A grad student Jonah began attending Razorback Recovery meetings in early 2025 to address digital addiction and now leads the weekly ‘Being Present in the Digital Age’ group — meeting Mondays at 5:30 p.m. in the Razorback Recovery Lounge at the health center to help fellow students build meaningful connections. - ➤ The Northwest Arkansas Writing Project will host Young Writers Camps from June 15-26 at the U of A campus, Hellstern Middle School in Springdale, and Washington Junior High School (for WJH students) so students in 2nd through 11th grade can improve their writing with fun activities and peer feedback. - ➤ On May 20, 2026, the U of A's last remaining Tech Store at the University Bookstore (616 N. Garland Ave.) will close permanently after 42 years of service.
