- ➤ The city hosted an open house on Thursday to gather public input on proposed safety improvements along East Joyce Boulevard — from College Avenue to Crossover Road. - ➤ New Census Bureau estimates show that Centerton grew by 5.7% from 2024 to 2025, making it Arkansas’s fastest-growing city, while Fayetteville increased to 106,623; data revealed strong gains in Northwest housing units + ongoing regional development. NWA Business Journal
- ➤ Former Council and Planning Commission member Sloan Scroggin died Wednesday at 41, according to Mayor Molly Rawn on the city Facebook page. Scroggin, who taught math at the University + worked as a Realtor, dedicated years to serving the community. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ South Florida softball is set for its first NCAA Tournament game outside Florida in 24 years as new seeding rules placed them in the Fayetteville Regional; coach Ken Eriksen (via Bogle Park practice) said the team will face Washington today at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. - ➤ Arkansas and Kentucky are set to face each other today at 5:30 p.m. at Kentucky Proud Park. The Razorbacks will start left-hander Hunter Dietz (a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist) against Kentucky’s Nate Harris, making his second start after a shoulder injury. - ➤ The University has reinstated its men’s and women’s tennis programs effective immediately after supporters raised $5 million in short-term funding for the 2026–27 season — head coaches now begin preparations for competition.
