- ➤ Fayetteville Public Schools will install walk-through metal detectors at three campuses — Fayetteville High, Ramay Junior and Woodland Junior — in the fall to strengthen campus safety. The OPENGATE detectors will quickly scan for metal without delay as school staff monitor alerts for any issues. 5 News

- ➤ The City of Fayetteville is asking residents to share ideas for a new aquatic facility as part of its ongoing study, with an online survey open until June 8th + an in-person feedback session at the Public Library on June 4th at 6 p.m. The study follows recommendations from the 2023 Park and Recreation System Master Plan to update local pool resources. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The University of Arkansas was awarded a $10 million grant from Arkansas DHS to build a crisis hub that will handle 9—8—8 calls and support mobile crisis teams across the community. Only $2 million will fund the hub while $8 million will boost outreach, with the call center set to be finished by the end of August and seven pilot sites launching by the end of 2026. 4029 News
