- ➤ Farmers for Tomorrow will host a happy hour benefit on Thursday, June 12 at The CAFF Farm (1005 Meade Avenue) in Fayetteville featuring live music by Buddy Shute and The Motivators, chef Elliot Hunt’s culinary creations, local brews by Fossil Cove, farm tours, a silent auction, and guest speakers—tickets cost $75 and all proceeds will support new local farms launched by CAFF program graduates. - ➤ A 20-year-old ATU student and her 17-year-old Scranton High School sister died Friday night when their Toyota was hit by a tractor-trailer during a three-vehicle wreck on the Morrison Bluff Bridge near Booneville— a memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Scranton High School Gymnasium. - ➤ A convicted murderer and rapist, Grant Hardin, escaped from North Central Unit prison on May 25 and is still at large in North Central Arkansas as police and the FBI use search methods—K-9 units, drones, ATVs, and horseback patrols—to capture him while offering a $25,000 reward for tips. 4029 News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials released a plan to protect local ash trees from the invasive emerald ash borer—an insect already seen in nearby counties. Residents will help by reporting tree locations and signs of infestation as the city offers free replacement trees and a virtual class on June 13. Fayetteville Flyer

- ➤ Fayetteville faces a lawsuit from Trinitas Ventures after the City Council voted against its proposed seven story, 185 unit student housing project on Dickson Street following a Planning Commission rejection that questioned if the project met the code's intent.
