  • Fayetteville's Nomads Southtown— a live music breakfast brunch venue at 1431 South School Avenue— will close after more than 10 years when it hosts a farewell brunch bash on July 20 from 8 to 6 p.m. Owner Jeremy Brown said rising expenses and challenges with the local homeless population led him to sell off items like buses, containers, furniture, wall art, and kitchen equipment while shifting his focus to Nomads Trailside.  5 News

  • The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery reported on Thursday that it raised $111.3 million for college scholarships in fiscal 2025 that ended June 30, making it the third highest amount since ticket sales began in September 2009. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A section of Stephen Carr Memorial Boulevard will be milled and repaved beginning Sunday. The work will take place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily and is expected to finish July 19 if weather holds steady—flaggers and traffic signs will guide drivers along the stretch from North Shiloh Drive to the Interstate 49 north exit ramps.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Fayetteville officials will review a proposal on July 15 to shift from curbside bins to a cart-based, single-stream recycling system that uses automated trucks to boost collection and improve worker safety.
