Local producer Chris Moore of East Hall Recording is marking 20 years with a show at George’s Majestic Lounge on July 20 that will feature local bands he has recorded over the years.

He will be recognized in Austin from July 27-31 — where he will receive a medal and plaque.

He said his work will help reduce chemical use and guide field managers in keeping turf healthy.

Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin spoke Friday at a Little Rock corrections conference and urged Congress to pass the Cell Phone Jamming Reform Act to let states block illegal cell phone use in prisons, noting that 230 inmate gang leaders used these devices to run crimes.
Sen. Tom Cotton supports the measure and officials say the technology can target only inmate phones+ help stop escapes and other criminal acts.
Fayetteville Mayor Molly Rawn sponsored a resolution that would let the city council allocate up to $450,000 from the general fund to support programs for the unhoused.
The resolution—listed on the consent agenda for the July 15 meeting—requires that city staff present proposals for council members to approve individually.
