- ➤ The Sam M. Walton College of Business at U of A has announced a redesigned one-year M.B.A. program that shortens the traditional 21-month curriculum to offer faster, rigorous business training for working professionals. - ➤ Fayetteville police responded to a shots fired call near Happy Hollow Road early Sunday morning at 1:30 a.m. and found no injuries, no property damage, and no public threat—while the shooter's identity and the number of shots fired remain unknown. 4029 News

- ➤ An Arkansas professor, Jefferson Miller, helped create the UK's first agricultural communications program in Scotland by merging agriculture and journalism based on years of research. The microcertificate curriculum will let students enroll this fall — a model that may lead to more exchange opportunities between UA and its international partners. - ➤ Four researchers from the U of A System were awarded bonus grants of $20,250 each by the Arkansas Research Alliance to develop innovative applications for rice, soybeans, and lithium-ion batteries—each project also involves an Arkansas industry partner adding additional funding. - ➤ The university merged its Office of Strategic Analytics and Insights with its Office of Data Transformation to create a new department+ named the Department of Strategic Data and Process Innovation that will improve data clarity and decision-making. - ➤ George Holmes, a master scientific research tech at the University of Arkansas Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, will retire in July after 36 years—he has held several roles since 1989.
