GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fayetteville — Uvalde Lindsey, a former legislator and the first director of the Northwest Arkansas Council, died Saturday at 85. He served local government for decades and his service celebration will be held Friday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where many will remember his dedication to the community.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • City staff said the benefits of changing Fayetteville’s recycling collection methods outweigh the risk of increased contamination + officials will review the proposal and decide next steps in the near future.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Fayetteville has been upgrading Wilson Park with a new Hub building that replaces the old restroom facility (offering social spaces and views of local courts) and a nature-inspired promenade with a new bridge along the loop trail.
