  • Walmart in Bentonville reported nearly $681 billion in revenue for its fiscal year ended Jan 31 with a 5% increase over the previous year and a net income of $19.4 billion—over 20 times that of Tyson Foods, while FactSet Research projects the retailer will narrowly beat Amazon in the current fiscal year.  5 News

  • A Fayetteville man was arrested Friday after he fired a shot at a groom during a wedding at an event center in Springdale—police say the incident is under investigation.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Gregory Alan Isakov will perform at The Momentary in Bentonville on Friday, July 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $57.90 to $165 — the singer-songwriter’s indie folk tunes are set to attract both passionate purists and mainstream listeners.  Arkansas Times

  • Kevin Trainor will serve as the chief operating officer and associate executive director of the Arkansas Alumni Association starting in August, leading a team of nine to strengthen ties with alumni. He brings 30 years of experience in U of A athletics and has a strong record in boosting outreach efforts.  University of Arkansas

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Fayetteville will replace a waterline at Drake Field at Fayetteville Executive Airport early Thursday, July 24 from midnight to 4 a.m. and a precautionary boil order is in effect for 706 water customers until tests show the water is safe — residents in Greenland, West Fork, and Mount Olive Water Association must boil water for drinking and cooking.  City of Fayetteville
  • Fayetteville’s Public Works Fleet Operations was named the No. 1 mid-sized fleet in the nation at the Government Fleet Expo and Conference in Charlotte last month — the division manages over 800 vehicles and ranked 4th among all U.S. public fleets. Fleet Operations Superintendent Ross Jackson was also named a top-three finalist for Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year.  Fayetteville Flyer
  • Fayetteville public meetings scheduled for July 21–25 include sessions for the Environmental Action Committee, a construction bid review, regional planning, housing, and public facilities, as set by the City Clerk Treasurer.
