- ➤ Late Monday, Fayetteville police and other agencies used a PIT maneuver to stop a fleeing vehicle that began in Elkins at the corner of College Avenue and East Appleby Road — resulting in the arrests of Jacob Lewis on charges including aggravated assault and drug delivery and Michael Main for drug offenses and a parole violation. - ➤ Fayetteville police stopped a fleeing vehicle during a late-night chase from Elkins to the corner of College Avenue and East Appleby Road using a ramming technique — known as a PIT maneuver — and arrested Jacob Lewis, 44, on charges including aggravated assault and drug offenses and Michael Main, 40, on drug charges and a parole violation. - ➤ Washington County judge Patrick Deakins said he is now sharing details after investigations found a sheriff's office maintenance supervisor used a skid steer and scissor lift at his home and that funds from sales of stripped air conditioner parts did not match its receipts — his team also discovered extra cash kept in a chief deputy’s office and a sergeant’s truck. The sheriff has declined to answer questions as Deakins pushes for clear policies to secure county property and restore public trust — urging full accountability from those involved. 4029 News
- ➤ Fayetteville is upgrading its water system by replacing old meters with new smart meters that send data to the cloud so residents can track usage on a mobile app & online. The city has already replaced 27,000 of 51,000 meters and will complete the change by 2030. 5 News
