- ➤ Transit and Parking and the Division of Student Affairs announced a new Safe Ride Sunday shuttle service that will launch Sunday, Aug 17, offering free rides on campus from 2 to 10 p.m. The Uber-style service will help students transport heavy items and vehicles+ it will run through the 2025-26 academic year with funding from student activity fees+ further details will be shared before launch. - ➤ Lee Watson, an Arkansas prison board member, stated that the board never asked for a 3,000-bed mega prison and argued that a 1,000-bed facility in western Arkansas along with smaller community correction centers would better address the overcrowding—county jails already hold 1,600 inmates.
