EDUCATION NEWS

  • U of A Global Campus will offer free RazorLearn classes starting Aug 27 — the program lets anyone learn business, education and technology skills from volunteer experts and civic leaders. HEALTH NEWS

  • Wildflower foragers in Fayetteville must be alert for poison hemlock, which spreads along roadsides and pastures and looks like Queen Anne's Lace but shows purple splotching on its stem—experts from the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension advise wearing protective gear when removing the plant since every part is toxic.  Arkansas Times

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Core Spaces will appeal the Planning Commission's decision by offering a revised bill of assurance that its student housing project, The HUB, will include 37 affordable units for nonstudents with set income guidelines and tenant relocation support — the City Council will review the appeal at 5:30 p.m. August 5 at City Hall.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Today, Arkansas Razorbacks completed a preseason workout with a 6 a.m. start and a media session at 9 a.m.—coach Sam Pittman plans more position meetings, film work, and closed scrimmages on Aug. 9 and 16 as the team works to improve turnovers and pass protection.  Fayetteville Flyer
  • Running back Jordan Avinger, who visited Fayetteville in June, committed to Arkansas after narrowing his list of schools. He is 6 ft 2 in, weighs 225 pounds, and is the only running back in the 2026 class—recording 48 carries for 671 yards, 9 receptions for 234 yards and 11 touchdowns last season while impressing Arkansas coaches with his versatility.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
