- ➤ Fayetteville had its second water main break in three days on Sunday—with Locust Avenue closed between Seventh and Ninth streets as police posted photos showing water rushing into yards and streets. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Forty-seven rising high school seniors joined the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas Youth Tour this summer and met with U.S. Senators John Boozman & Tom Cotton. They will share their summer experiences when they return to school later this month. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ The University of Arkansas Biological and Agricultural Engineering department announced today that three faculty members received promotions in recognition of their work in research, teaching and service. Matthew McVey is now a teaching assistant professor, Beatriz Moreno-García is a research assistant professor and Benjamin Runkle is a professor—each recognized for their significant contributions to the department. - ➤ University Housing begins Move-In 2025 for over 7,200 new Razorbacks today at Baum—Walker Stadium where early arrivals check in and most students move in from Aug. 6th to Aug. 9th. Faculty and staff must note Resident parking lots will be closed after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5th and Stadium Drive will be shut from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday—extra police will guide traffic. - ➤ The School of Law announced new officers for the Law Alumni Society board—Mieka Hatcher as president and Austin Todd as vice president—and five new board members (Clark Donat, Andrew Dixon, Brandon Maxey, Dana McGee and Brice White) have been named for three-year terms. The board will sponsor six awards at the Alumni Reunion Weekend on April 10-11, 2026 as nominations open now. University of Arkansas

- ➤ Today, Razorback Transit will adjust services ahead of the fall semester by increasing buses on the Lot 500 Express, boosting Route 11 frequency, modifying Route 14 and 35 schedules, and splitting Route 44 into two daytime paths — these changes aim to manage weekday peak demand.
