- ➤ The University of Arkansas raised over $254.7 million in private gift support during fiscal year 2025 — its strongest non-campaign fundraising year — and pushed its Land of Opportunity Scholarship initiative past $132.8 million. - ➤ City Council voted 6—0 on Tuesday to hold off on a decision about a Residential Renters’ Committee until the meeting on Aug 19. - ➤ Governor Sarah Sanders declared disaster areas after storms struck from May 16 to May 20, authorizing state public aid for recovery. The declaration covers Sebastian, Washington, Chicot, and St. Francis counties—ensuring that affected areas receive help to repair damage. 4029 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Arkansas health insurers including Centene, Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Ambetter have proposed steep rate hikes for 2026 health coverage amid changes in tax credits and new laws — the changes would affect more than 350,000 people.
