- ➤ Students can volunteer with VAC's Food Recovery and Full Circle Food Pantry programs by stocking shelves, filling orders, and delivering food to help cut waste and fight food insecurity. - ➤ Fayetteville alum Ryan Billingsley opened his new children’s bookstore, Dad Suggests Books, at 2526 E. Mission Blvd., Suite 110, in early July. - ➤ U of A first-year students are invited to search for a 3-inch by 2-pound Golden Cardinal hidden on campus during A-Week from today until August 15. A new clue will be posted online each morning at 9 a.m. (starting today) and the finder must return the cardinal to the Student Engagement Office (Union A640) by 5 p.m. on August 18 to claim prizes. - ➤ Fayetteville Public Schools and the City of Fayetteville launched their Safe Routes to School plan this school year — funded by a $100,000 grant from the Arkansas Department of Transportation — to improve student safety for biking and walking. Coordinator Justin Keen said the plan includes enhanced crosswalks and parent surveys to support safer travel and reduce more than 3.5M annual vehicle trips. 5 News
- ➤ The University of Arkansas Press has launched a redesigned website that offers better accessibility, a smarter search, and a clean design — it makes it easier to find titles, submit work, and learn about press events. - ➤ The renovated HPER Building will open on Aug. 18 with over 22,000 square feet of new fitness space, turf training zones and modern equipment after a $23 million renovation that lasted over a year.
