Fayetteville has installed new food waste bins — featuring keypad access at the Public Library, Bryce Davis Park and Veterans Memorial Park — to help residents sort food scraps and make high-quality compost.

The bins were funded by a $10,000 grant — with each costing about $2,100 — as the city aims to cut landfill waste and lower methane emissions.
