- ➤ Fayetteville will host a Veterans Day parade this fall to honor veterans from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard. The parade will start at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 in downtown Fayetteville — followed by a veterans trade show in the Upper Ramble that offers support and resources to service members. - ➤ The Advertising and Promotion Commission approved a letter of intent to transfer the $1-a-year lease of the Walker Stone House to Ozark Folkways—so the Folk School can reopen as a community music space—after founder Bernice Hembree announced her departure. The commission voted 6-0 and will review a final lease contract on Sept. 22 with the lease scheduled to begin Oct. 1. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ On Monday afternoon, false reports of an active shooter at Mullins Library left University of Arkansas students frightened as police arrived quickly but provided nearly two hours of silence—forcing many to rely on social media for updates. UAPD and FBI officials are reviewing the hoax while students say they deserve an apology for the poor communication. 4029 News

- ➤ Fayetteville Falltoberfest released its lineup, featuring Minneapolis-based Pert Near Sandstone, St. Louis party band Zero to Ninety, central Arkansas country band Copper Flats, local rock band The Phlegms, local songwriter Ashtyn Barbaree, and the New School Band plus others to be announced, officials said. The event will take place on Sunday, October 5th from noon until around 6 p.m. and will include a Mr Oktoberfest pageant, dogtoberfest pet parade, German traditions tent, local brews, craft cocktails, and vendors.
