- ➤ Fayetteville police responded at 11:54 a.m. on Sunday to 341 N. Garnet Court in The Cliffs apartment complex after reports of shots fired—one person died after a shootout when the suspect fired at officers. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Fayetteville police confirmed that on Sept. 7 shots were fired during a welfare check at the Cliffs Apartment complex on Crossover Road—officers are actively working the scene and have not reported any injuries. 4029 News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Vincent Frimpong, a U of A School of Art alumnus, was named one of six emerging ceramic artists to receive the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts Emerging Artists Fellowship—he is the first alumnus to earn the award. His work exploring African identity will be featured in a group exhibition and conference talks in Utah, and the fellowship comes with a $3,300 honorarium. University of Arkansas

- ➤ True Burger, a Chartwells Higher Education concept inside the Arkansas Union, has raised over $200K in scholarships from 5% of sales that go to students in need — a program started when the Burger King contract ended.
