  • Today, Sunday on the Square brings free live music and a flea market to Fayetteville square—kicking off Arkansas Music Week.   • Downtown bars in Fayetteville, such as Pinpoint on Block Street, received free training from the SAFE Bar Network — a program that teaches active bystander skills to reduce overconsumption and harassment.   • Crystal Bridges opened a new exhibit on Sept. 13 that explores sports in art — the display shows a mix of athletic and creative expression. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions is teaming with the Academic Language Therapy Association and Nelms Dyslexia Center to offer a program that lets students earn CALT certification alongside graduate credit in special education — a plan aimed at easing the shortage of dyslexia therapists in Arkansas schools. The new pathway in Fayetteville is designed to streamline credentialing and help public schools meet their need for more qualified therapists.  NWA Business Journal

  • Benton County will end state financing for Siloam Springs’ 911 call center next year as the county revises the support agreement after concerns were raised by its former public safety administrator—this funding had been in place since 2023.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
