  • More than 100 entrepreneurs were chosen at Walmart’s Open Call event at its Bentonville campus to get their U.S.-made products on Walmart and Sam’s Club shelves and online.   • Director Derek Cianfrance’s film Roofman stars Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst as a former soldier turned thief and a single mom who find unexpected love while working at a toy store—reviewers highlight their strong performances as the film opened in local theaters on Oct. 10.  Fayetteville Flyer

  • CREW Northwest Arkansas announced that designer and HGTV star Jenny Marrs will be the featured speaker at its 2025 Signature Event on November 10 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville—she will join a fireside chat discussing her career and commitment to storytelling and family while the event serves up dinner, cocktails, and dessert for 200 guests.  NWA Business Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Razorback basketball returned on Oct.2 with Primetime at the Palace at Bud Walton Arena, where the men’s and women’s teams excited fans with a dunk contest that crowned Trevon Brazile after his leap over a 7-foot defender and an 8-minute scrimmage ending 31-28. The men's team will head to Hot Springs on Oct.12 at 3 p.m. for a tip-off scrimmage at Bank OZK Arena — setting the tone for the upcoming season.  The Arkansas Traveler
  • Arkansas Razorbacks football, now led by coach Bobby Petrino, are playing the No. 12 Tennessee Volunteers today at 3:15 p.m. in Knoxville—after a bye week and defensive staff changes, the team looks to build on its four straight wins over Tennessee.  The Arkansas Traveler
  • Matt Jones and Ethan Westerman provided SEC football predictions for upcoming Week 7 games — including the Arkansas-Tennessee matchup — at WholeHogSports Daily.   • Unbeaten Bentonville beat winless Rogers Heritage 42-0 at Tiger Stadium Friday night during homecoming, scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter before adding more points later.
