- ➤ Pedal It Forward NWA will host a community Bike Drive with Bella Vista Historical Museum on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the museum—donations of bikes, parts, and accessories will be repaired and given to local residents in need. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ The Sam M. Walton College of Business has announced the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame Class of 2026 to honor four business leaders from many industries—Scott Ford, James T. - ➤ Fulbright College introduced a new mission statement—shaped by year-long input from faculty, staff, students and alumni—that outlines its vision for transforming education, research and creative expression. - ➤ University of Arkansas chancellor Charles Robinson dispelled a myth at the Little Rock Rotary meeting by saying only 27% of the 34,175 students are Texans and 16,658 are Arkansans—proof that local enrollment is strong. - ➤ An emergency work group of state lawmakers, child care providers and officials will explore stopgap fixes to keep the School Readiness Assistance program, which helps 15,000 children, running as drastic reimbursement cuts set to begin Nov. 1 threaten provider closures—officials are considering options such as tweaking eligibility and capping copays while state funding may be proposed in the upcoming 2026 fiscal session. - ➤ Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt filed a motion Friday in federal court to settle a lawsuit over phosphorus pollution in the Illinois River—saying his state's attorney general and Northwest Arkansas poultry companies had reached an impasse.
