- ➤ PORCH TV will livestream on Monday, November 17 from noon to 5:30 p.m. EST, showing eight episodes on American porch design that will let viewers earn up to five AIA learning units. The free event is organized by the U of A's Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design in partnership with DesignConnects and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art—registration is now open. - ➤ Fayetteville’s TheatreSquared will debut a world premier stage adaptation of It’s A Wonderful Life on November 19 and run until Christmas Eve. Eight actors will play over 65 roles — the production is led by director Damon Kiely and brings a unique holiday take on the classic story. Fayetteville Flyer

- ➤ SOOIE will host the November RSO Involvement Fair on November 19 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Union International Connections Lounge — on-campus clubs will recruit new members and share resources while offering food and club merch. University of Arkansas
- ➤ At the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville — according to Chris Bryson of the Academic Initiatives and Integrity office — the number of students found responsible for academic integrity violations increased by over 200 from 2023-24 to 2024-25. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Colin Crawford, the candidate for dean of the School of Law, will hold an open forum on Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m. in the E.J. Ball Courtroom—he will share his vision for the law school and answer campus community questions. University of Arkansas
- ➤ Professor Ya-Jane Wang from the University of Arkansas will speak at the IFT Ozark Section Kick-Off Networking Event on November 20 in room D1/D2 of the Food Science Department Building at 2650 N. Young Avenue—her talk 'The Other Side of the Fence - My Experience in the Food Industry' will share her 30 years in food science and industry work. - ➤ The University of Arkansas Libraries will host virtual reality drop-in sessions at Mullins Library — room 244 every Monday from November 17 to December 8 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; visitors can try VR treadmills and headsets without a reservation while staff offer guidance. - ➤ The 2025 Arkansas Philological Association Conference is held today and Saturday at the Arkansas Union on the University of Arkansas campus in Rooms 510-514. Faculty, graduate students, undergraduates and independent scholars will present research while non-presenters can register with a $25 fee by cash or check at the door. University of Arkansas
- ➤ The Latino Alumni Society is asking faculty and staff to nominate fall graduating students with strong academics, leadership, or community engagement; nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. CST Nov. 21—selected students will receive a unique stole to be worn at the Méritos Latinos Winter Reception on Dec. 12. - ➤ Plans for the new Ramay Junior High have sparked debate as local environmental advocates warn that building on the College Avenue site may risk one of the remaining urban forests and raise erosion and traffic safety concerns. The School District says its updated vertical design will preserve over 30% of the natural canopy and improve safety — although the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association is even offering to buy the land to protect the hillside. 5 News
- ➤ The Office for Faculty Affairs at U of A is accepting proposals for the Provost Award for Departmental Excellence in Faculty Mentoring until Feb 28; department chairs must email a one-page proposal by Jan 15 for consideration. The winning unit will receive $10,000—its mentoring program will then be shared with other campus departments. University of Arkansas

- ➤ An engineer leading a region-wide wastewater study said that Northwest Arkansas must release more treated wastewater east into the Beaver Lake watershed as the area prepares for 400,000 more residents by 2050. - ➤ Arkansas women's basketball team beat Southeastern Louisiana 68 to 60 on Thursday night at Walton Arena despite a sluggish start and missed layups—leaving them unbeaten at 4 to 0 as they prepare to face Texas Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m. at United Supermarkets Arena.
