BUSINESS NEWS

  • Walmart Inc. listed upcoming investor events where company leaders will speak at conferences on Dec. 2, Dec. 3, and Jan. 13. The Bentonville retailer said John David Rainey will speak at 10:00 a.m., Seth Dallaire at 1:15 p.m., and Daniel Danker at 7:00 a.m.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will host Carols at the Capitol Monday from 5-6 p.m. inside the state capitol rotunda where families and guests of all ages are invited to join a festive sing-along—performers include orchestra members, a jazz trio, youth soloists and community singers.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Fayetteville-based Gar Hole Records will host its final Gar Holeidays event (its five-year anniversary celebration) on Dec. 5 and 6 at George’s Majestic Lounge as co-founder Kurt prepares to move to New Orleans.   • Students in the School of Art will unveil their new mural People Watching along the Tsa-La-Gi Trail (near 1030 W.   • Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich will teach his final class in the documentary 'The Last Class' at a screening on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. in Gearhart 026—he will share lessons from a 40-year career while reflecting on rising income and wealth differences.  University of Arkansas
  • University of Arkansas students from Spanish Biliteracy and Translation Service-Learning courses helped spark bilingual learning at a recent STEAM Fest at Walker Elementary in Springdale — they led translation games and science activities that link language study to future college pathways.  University of Arkansas
  • The University of Arkansas will offer Spanish for Heritage Speakers courses in Spring 2026—helping students use their native language to earn degree credits and prepare for better job options. The course also features a Fast Track Exam that saves time and tuition while building career skills.  University of Arkansas

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The University of Arkansas Police Department is sponsoring a public safety presentation on Avoid, Deny, Defend, the SafeZone app, Razorback Watch and enhanced carry—an event aimed at strengthening awareness and preparedness. It will take place at the Arkansas Union Theatre—Room 424 on December 2 from 6 to 7 p.m. and December 4 from 6 to 7 p.m.  University of Arkansas

SPORTS NEWS

  • Alex Golesh has accepted an offer to be the next head coach of the Razorbacks football team, according to veteran reporter Trey Schapp on X, though the university has not confirmed the hire.   • The Arkansas Razorbacks are set to wrap up their stay at the Music City Classic with a game against Southern Illinois at 6 p.m. today in Nashville—after a 15-minute delay due to an earlier game running long.   • At Trevecca Trojan Fieldhouse in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday's Music City Classic saw Arkansas beat Drake 79—72, Saint Louis beat SMU 70—67, Stetson defeat North Kentucky 89—63 and Winthrop win over Southern Illinois 75—61.
