BUSINESS NEWS

  • Freckled Hen, a Fayetteville gift shop at 1904 N. College Avenue, will close in mid-January after the holidays as owner Natalie Freeman said she needs more time with her family. The shop has served the community for several years.  Fayetteville Flyer

EDUCATION NEWS

  • University of Arkansas alumni and a student contributed $775,000 to the Land of Opportunity Scholarship campaign, a three-year effort to expand educational access, raise graduation rates and boost university-business ties statewide. As of Oct. 31, the campaign had raised 68% of its goal from pledges and commitments.  NWA Business Journal
  • Fayetteville City Council approved rezoning a College Avenue property Tuesday night for a new Ramay Junior High School + the district will now submit project plans to address concerns and may begin construction as early as May.  5 News

  • Arkansas will square off with Queens today at Bud Walton Arena with tipoff at 8 p.m. The Razorbacks, coming off a three-game win streak with wins over Louisville & Texas Tech, aim to build momentum before their next high-profile matchup.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas announced Tuesday that first-year football coach Ryan Silverfield added Tim Cramsey as offensive coordinator, Ron Roberts as defensive coordinator, and Chad Lunsford as special teams coordinator.   • Lizzy Gunsalus claimed her third cyclocross title of the week at the USA Cycling National Championships at Centennial Park on Sunday, Dec. 14 — a win that added to her strong performance in Fayetteville. She brought home extra hardware to mark her victory.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas football head coach Ryan Silverfield announced three new coordinators—Tim Cramsey, Ron Roberts, and Chad Lunsford—to boost team performance after a challenging season. The Razorbacks will open their 2026 campaign in Fayetteville on Sept. 5 against North Alabama.  The Arkansas Traveler
