Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 23rd of December.
Good morning, Fayetteville.
🎓 Education
UA students are staying in Fayetteville during the holidays because busy work schedules and blackout days at local stores leave little time to visit family.
Tia West at Sephora and Hollen Hatherly at Meiji Japanese Cuisine balance school and job demands as they work through the break.
🏛️ Government
Fayetteville is asking residents for input on a new Animal Services facility; a survey online, open through January, seeks feedback on design, programs and capacity requirements plus in-person sessions will be scheduled later.
Mayor Molly Rawn said the input will guide efforts to replace the outdated facility.
🏈 Sports
Bobby Petrino, the former Arkansas coach, is reportedly set to join North Carolina as offensive coordinator under Bill Belichick (with a contract estimated at $1.87 million through Feb.
2027), while UA defensive tackle Ian Geffrard entered the transfer portal as the Razorbacks adjust their football staff.
