  • Fayetteville’s CREW activated its cold weather shelters Sunday night—services expanded with a shelter opening at First Church in Siloam Springs at 6 p.m. that offers meals, a warm place to sleep for up to 50 people—and officials will decide Monday night whether to reopen additional sites.  4029 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students in Fulbright College’s course practiced professional conversation during a networking event held at the Cordia Harrington Student Success Center, where campus professionals helped them build confidence and learn vital career skills.   • Arkansas officials will fund every eligible student for educational freedom accounts for the 2025-26 school year — more than 51,000 students applied with only 289 found ineligible.   • Washington County has enforced a burn ban since Christmas while Benton County began a 24‑hour ban on Dec. 28 amid dry, windy conditions that heighten fire risks — local officials urge residents to follow the restrictions to ensure safety.  5 News
