- ➤ The Ozark Natural Science Center will host Call of the Wild at Lake Fayetteville on May 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. where families can join guided hikes, nature games, live music, and enjoy meals with vegan and gluten-free options. A donation-based Ride for the Wild will run from 2 to 4 p.m. — funds support outdoor education — and the event offers a full day of outdoor fun. 5 News

- ➤ Faux L’Beaux — a Fayetteville-based drag queen — played a key role in designing several outfits for Onya Nurve, who will perform at Club Sway on May 14 after winning RuPaul’s Drag Race. - ➤ Apple Seeds Teaching Farm in Gulley Park runs a program where kids learn to cook healthy farm-to-table meals and understand nutrition. The program includes a Kids’ Table Summer Camp from June 2 to August 1 that runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. per session at $205 and offers volunteer opportunities on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. 5 News

- ➤ Maple Street between Leverett & Gregg avenues will close for nearly three months starting May 12 and run through early August as Phase 1 of a 33.5 million dollar safety project begins. The project, funded by a federal grant with matching funds from the city & University of Arkansas, will add crosswalks, new driving lanes, greenspace, sidewalks and a bike lane to improve road safety and access.
